The Biden administration continues to consider various options for tariffs on Chinese goods, the White House said Tuesday. Prior to this, the administration announced that it would soon cancel some of the duties on imports from China. A Wall Street Journal report said that President Joe Biden could announce his decision this week.
At a press briefing, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said the Biden team was „discussing the decision” but had no further information as of Tuesday afternoon.
Biden’s decision could include suspending tariffs on consumer goods such as clothing and school supplies, as well as launching a mechanism to allow importers to request special tariff relief, the WSJ reported.
