US stocks closed higher on Thursday, with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite posting gains for the fourth day in a row. The S&P 500 rose 1.5%, the Nasdaq Composite added 2.3% and the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 1.1%. The rally was broad in nature, despite the absence of visible growth catalysts.
Only the utilities sector ended trading slightly in the red. Particularly successful were shares of semiconductor manufacturers after a strong report from Samsung. Investors are now looking forward to US labor market data for June, due out on Friday.
